Last fall, Congress passed legislation requiring all federal agencies to update their civil penalties – taking into account inflation. The Department of Labor is adjusting penalties for all of its agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The new penalties will take place August 1, 2016, for violations that occurred after November 2, 2015.
